Laser vision correction can treat a very high degree of short sightedness, long sightedness and astigmatism. Your eyes are as individual as you are and we will assess your suitability for laser vision correction in a free consultation carried out by one of our experienced Laser Trained Optometrists who will perform an in depth eye examination (involving many additional tests not conducted during a standard eye exam) and use state-of-the-art equipment to determine if you are a suitable candidate.

Do you know your prescription?
Short Sight (Myopia)
If you need vision correction to see things clearly at a distance, you are short sighted. Without spectacles or contact lenses your vision is blurred.
Long Sight (Hyperopia)
If you need vision correction to read or see things close up, you are long sighted. Depending on your age you may have problems focusing on distant objects too.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is most commonly where the cornea is oval like a rugby ball instead of spherical like a football. Most astigmatic corneas have two curves; a steeper curve and a flatter curve. This causes light to focus at more than one point in the eye resulting in blurred vision. Many long and short sighted people often have a degree of astigmatism.
Reading Spectacles (Presbyopia)
Presbyopia should not be confused with long-sightedness. Most people require reading spectacles on reaching their 40’s and 50’s (whether they have laser surgery or not) when the natural lens can no longer alter its focus from distance to near, even if they have never had to wear spectacles before. We will soon commence treatments to eliminate the need for reading spectacles. This treatment will initially only be available to a small percentage of people who need reading spectacles, due to a restricted prescription range.
