Mr. Osama Giledi

MBBCh FRCS

An experienced Ophthalmic Surgeon, Mr. Giledi has performed more than 14,000 laser procedures including LASIK, INTRALASIK, LASEK and Wavefront-guided treatments as well as undertaking the treatment of complex cases. He is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and is a fully trained Ophthalmologist who has undergone additional specialist training in refractive surgery.

He is an Ophthalmic Surgeon for Optical Express and a consultant Ophthalmologist at the Queen Victoria Hospital NHS trust, East Grinstead which is a tertiary referral centre for the management of difficult corneal and ocular surface diseases. Mr. Giledi has gained vast experience and has special interests in the treatment of complicated corneal diseases and cataract surgery. He is an active member of various affiliated bodies and societies such as Royal College of Surgeons and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Twice every year, Mr. Giledi attends International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) Conferences and is annually assessed by this board. The panel consists of several of the world's most eminent Refractive Surgeons including Mr. Steve Schallhorn, former Head of Ophthalmology for the US Navy, Professor Jan Venter, a world leading Ophthalmic Surgeon, and Mr. Jeffery Machat, co-founder of TLC Vision, one of the largest laser vision correction providers in the world.

Mr. Giledi is a Corneal, Refractive and Anterior Segment Surgeon with his fellowship training spanning two years at the Corneoplastic Unit and Eye Bank, Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. He is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of complex corneal conditions including refractive surgery problems. He is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Centre for Sight, where he performs more laser refractive procedures, general ophthalmology, cataract surgery and non-laser refractive procedures. He is one of the VISX Surgeon trainers who train other Surgeons on the use of S4 CustomVue excimer laser both nationally and internationally, and also participates in teaching at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is one of the faculty members that train Ophthalmologists in corneal graft surgery at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

His dedication to his profession and patients is evident from his clinical experience and continued attendance at seminars and conferences internationally, as both speaker and delegate allowing him to stay abreast of all developments in the advancing field of ophthalmology.
